i found this book at my great-grandmother’s house a few weekends ago and asked if i could have it. my grandmother gave it to me on sunday. it is a wonderful gift. i love handwritten lists so much. i’m not sure why. the quality of it. the thought and order behind it. the show of process. this is such a treasure for me. the book itself is beautiful and the fact that my great-grandmother kept such painstaking and consistent records year to year -of wages, stocks and taxes is just amazing. everything seemed so simple. you worked. you saved. you paid taxes. you kept records. you were held accountable for your spending and you lived within your means – responsible for yourself. i love how honest this book is…and as i like to say..it’s a real beauty.
