i love lists. i especially love handwritten ones. here are a few from my scattered collection. the list on cardboard is one that i found in a grocery store in south carolina several years ago. it is one of my favorites of all time. i love that it is on cardboard, is written in pencil and crossed out in pen. i love that they got fancy when they wrote the “E”s in cheese and that they spelled it with a ‘z’. i also love that they misspelled ‘blonde’, b-o-l-n-d-e…the specific description of the hair dye packaging makes me think it was a woman who wrote it for her husband, who she sent to the store to collect the goods. on the list to the right, i love how my friend, caron started to write “bottled bater” and then corrected the “bater” with “water”. i love imagining the internal dialogue one has when making a list…”what do we need?…what will i make for dinner on tuesday?…how many should i get?…” grocery carts are a great place to find lists. once in a blue moon, my friends send me theirs. makes me so happy! here is a great website, host to hundreds of grocery lists!
