amy bennett’s paintings are amazing! – they are studies from small scale models that she constructed from styrofoam, cardboard and railroad miniatures. i love the perspective and composition. To a degree, I am reminded of diebenkorn’s cityscape. They have a painterly quality, but also feel eerie and staged, like a gregory crewdson photograph. the color palette is fanstastic. i can’t stop looking at these!
